Wedding at Chateau Laurier Ottawa

Fairmont Chateau Laurier wedding in downtown Ottawa

I had to smile, because they call each other Prince and Princess and their wedding really was the most elegant and Disney-like affair! They even celebrated at the Chateau Laurier (a castle-like hotel) You’ll see in the photos below how gorgeous the ballroom was! But what stood out more than the lovely décor was their love for each other. Their wedding was a testimony to their love and the fact that they’re in it for a lifetime!

An emotional church wedding

The wedding ceremony was held at the First Baptist Ottawa church. The bride’s parents both walked her down the aisle as a bridesmaid played the violin. The ceremony was emotional and touching. For the exit, the groom carried his bride down the aisle. The first and only time I’ve seen that happen!

Wedding portraits along the Rideau Canal

We headed out with the wedding party for photos in downtown Ottawa. First, we stopped at the nearby Ottawa Courthouse, which had a minimal modern architecture which made a great backdrop for their wedding party photos and some creative portraits of the bride and groom. Then we walked along Rideau Canal all the way to the Bytown Museum, taking photos along the way.

Chateau Laurier wedding reception

This downtown Ottawa wedding reception at the Chateau Laurier featured a live brass band, a mini swing dancing lesson for the guests, lots of heartfelt speeches, playful kids and beautiful moments.
